• Diabetic neuropathy: In this condition, the pain can develop in either armpit. Due to constantly high levels of blood sugar, the nerves get damaged. When the damage occurs in the armpits or near the armpit region, you can suffer from pain. However, diabetic neuropathy is seen most commonly in the feet and legs.

• Skin allergy: Using chemicals on the skin or cosmetics containing chemicals can lead to the skin getting inflamed and red. Pain in the armpit can begin after using a particular brand of soap or deodorant which can cause the skin allergy to flare up.

Besides these causes, there are several more, like pulling a muscle, pain radiating from the chest into the armpit, injury, trauma to the upper torso, and even razor bumps.
