The surgery is one of the type of treatment for the Breast Cancer Patients in which the cancer is removed from the breast through an operation. The lymph node is removed from underarm is seen under microscope for if it contains cancer or not. Breast Conserving Surgery is a type of surgery in which only the cancer is removed and not the breast itself. Even after surgery, the patients are often given chemotherapy, radiations and hormone therapy in order to kill the cancer cells. The reconstruction of the breast is also done after mastectomy or in future to give a shape to the breast so that the person can live with confidence.

Radiation Therapy

In this method the high energy x-rays are used to kill the cancerous cells or to stop them from growing and spreading any further. The Radiation Therapy is of two types; the External Radiation Therapy and the Internal Radiation Therapy. In the External Radiation Therapy, the machine is used outside the body to send the radiations towards the cancer while the Internal Radiation Therapy uses radioactive substances that are sealed in a needle that are placed directly into or near the cancer. The type of the radiation is selected and used as per the stage of the cancer.

The chemotherapy is done by drugs or medicines to stop the growth of the cancer or to stop it from spreading. There are two ways of taking drug either by mouth or is injected into a vein. The type of the chemotherapy used depends solely on the type and stage of the cancer.

Hormone Therapy

The hormone therapy is given to the patients with early stages of breast cancer.

The Advanced Breast Cancer is that in which cancer spreads at a distant place from the original location. The Advanced Breast Cancer Treatment includes hormonal treatment to slow down the growth of the cancer cells. The radiation therapy is used in advance breast cancer treatment and finally the surgery is done. The chemotherapy can also be used in some cases. The Inflammatory Breast Cancer is also treated the same way.

Beside these types of treatment, there are holistic treatment for breast cancer too. The natural, alternative ad holistic treatment variety is available to treat without surgery and radiations.
